Move a task

Task Tracker provides lots of ways of moving tasks around. Here are some of them...

Drag and Drop

  1. Select the tasks you want to move.
  2. Click and drag on one of the selected tasks. The mouse will start to drag a copy of the task around. As you move the mouse over other tasks, they are highlighted to indicate where your selected tasks will be dropped. If you pause over a closed group task, the group will be automatically opened.
  3. When you release the mouse, the selected tasks will be moved to the place indicated.

Pressing escape during a drag and drop operation will cancel it.

Cut and Paste

  1. Select the tasks you want to move.
  2. Choose Cut from the Edit Menu. You can also click on the Cut button on the toolbar or press Ctrl+X. The selected tasks will be removed from the document.
  3. Select a task to insert after. This can be in a different document, or in a different copy of Task Tracker running on your PC.
  4. Choose Paste from the Edit Menu. You can also click on the Paste button on the toolbar or press Ctrl+V.

Use the Move Buttons

  1. Select the tasks you want to move.
  2. Press the Move Up and Move Down buttons on the toolbar to move the tasks one line up or down. This can also be done from the Task Menu, or the context menu (right click on the selected tasks), or by pressing Ctrl+Up/Down Arrow.
  3. Press the Indent and Outdent Task buttons on the toolbar to move tasks into and out of group tasks.
